Solar Imaging Session - April 1, 2016
Today is April Fool's Day and the sky was cloudy this morning when I wake up. :( After I fetch my son KC to tutor, I had a small window for me to grab a few shots of the Sun in Ha before it gets obstructed by the roof. There is a huge eruptive prominence visible in the NE limb! Very photogenic as well. AR2526 Sunspot Group, on the other hand, shows a bit of decline in solar activity as the flares beside the group had toned down a bit. The huge dark filament in the SW quadrant has exited a bit to the limb thus showing a nice FilaProm structure :) After I packed up my stuff, it rained hard :) LOL Guess this is my April Fool's Day prank for me to image the Sun and gets rained but luckily, I got to packed up before it poured hard :) LOL

Solar Imaging Session - March 31, 2016
The sky this morning is partly hazy and seeing condition is ok. AR2526 Sunspot Group is face on now and can see nice penumbral symmetrical structures on it. In Ha wavelength, one can see some flaring activity beside AR2526 Sunspot Group. The huge circular dark filament in the SW quadrant can still be seen and very photogenic as well.

Solar Imaging Session - March 29, 2016
The sky this morning is slightly hazy and seeing condition is fair. AR2526 Sunspot Group looks nice and big but very symmetrical in shape. There is a huge faint ejection prominence in the eastern limb as well as a huge dark filament in the SW quadrant.

March 23, 2016 Penumbral Lunar Eclipse
The sky in the evening was partly hazy so the rising Full Moon , which had already entered penumbral phase much earlier around 5:47pm PST while it is still below horizon, shows a distinct coppery yellow color as it rises from the eastern horizon. It later turned back to its natural lunar color after it passed through the thick haze on the horizon.
The penumbral shadow cast a very light shade at around 7 o'clock position and slowly entered into maximum penumbral phase of about 77.5% and cast about 1/3rd light shadings on the lunar surface.
It then slowly creeps out of the lunar surface at around 4 o'clock and finally exits at 9:54pm PST.
I observed the event with fellow ALPer Alberto Lao.
Solar Imaging Session - March 23, 2016
Finally, after almost 50 days f no solar imaging session due to building obstruction, I finally was able to get a shot of the Sun in Ha wavelength once again this morning. AR2524 Sunspot Group shows lots of solar activity inside its core. There is also a nice large dark filament in the SE limb as well as another one in the NE limb.
