Solar Imaging Session - November 30, 2010 (AR11130 Sunspot Group and Huge Eruptive Prominence !!! )

Hello:

The sky this morning is partially clear but seeing condition again is not that good. New AR11130 Sunspot Group has increased in size as well as structure. A huge eruptive prominence can also be seen together with AR11130 Sunspot Group near the NW limb. Several groups of small eruptive prominences can be be seen as well in the NE and SE limb.

Solar Imaging Session - November 26, 2010 (AR111027 & AR111028 Sunspot Groups)

Hello:

The sky this morning is clear but seeing was terrible again :( Nevertheless, I still proceeded with doing my usual solar observation and imaging routine. AR11127 Sunspot Group is now nearing the NW limb and is also decaying but still shows a nice small penumbral structure. In H-Alpha light, AR11127 Sunspot Group can be seen in the NW limb together with a nice group of Large Eruptive Prominences.

AR11128 Sunspot Group, on the other hand, can be seen emerging already from the SE limb with nice faculae region in white light wavelength. Aside from these solar activities, not much action can be seen around the solar limb.

Solar Imaging Session - November 25, 2010

Hello:

The sky this morning was really cloudy and I initially don't intend to make any solar observation and imaging today because of it. But at around 8:45am, I saw some sunlight reflecting on our window a bit but as I check on the Sun, the sky was still cloudy but some sunlight still passes through the clouds and my solar adrenaline pumps up again and urged to to take a look at the Sun even for a short time :)

As I check on the Sun, I can see AR11127 Sunspot Group as a small group with a nice group of eruptive prominences at the NW limb. But passing clouds tends to give me a hard time to image it but nevertheless, I still got to image it despite very bad seeing condition :( As I scan for any other solar activity around the solar limb, I was able to see a possible new AR11128 coming out of the SE limb but unfortunately, I wasn't able to image it because the clouds shut me out totally after 9am :(

Solar Imaging Session - November 16, 2010

The sky this morning was partly cloudy again just like yesterday and again I'm frustrated in my imaging attempt to capture the solar actions from our old friend Sol :( I started out at 7:20am and ended my session after seeing no more chance to image the Sun till 9:15am with our house's roof obstructing my view. Nevertheless, I was still able to get a shot of AR11124 Sunspot Group in H-Alpha wavelength only.

AR11124 Sunspot Group continues to grow and shows nice solar activity inside its core group. A small nice dark filament can be seen arching above AR11124 group. A nice large eruptive prominence can also be seen near the NW limb to add some spice to the NW quadrant.

This will be my last solar imaging session for the week till next Friday as I will be on my monthly out of town working trip. Hope to start imaging again next weekend! :)

Solar Imaging Session - November 15, 2010

Hello:

The sky condition this morning is really bad but since I plan to monitor developments of AR11124 and AR11126 Sunspot Group. Unfortunately, clouds are so thick that and only very small cloud openings are available between 7:34am-9:25am that I was only able to get once shot of AR11124 Sunspot Group in H-Alpha wavelength through passing clouds :( AR11124 continues to grow and now looks to have 2 main core component in its group. Aside from the AR11124 Group, I was able to see 2 nice eruptive prominence in the NW limb but no image though as got totally clouded out after imaging AR11124 :(

Solar Imaging Session - November 14, 2010 (New AR11125 & AR11126 Sunspot Groups)

Hello:

The sky this morning is partly cloudy again and seeing not that good. I quickly setup and start imaging the Sun in H-Alpha wavelength. AR11123 continues to deteriorates both in H-Alpha and white light and contains mostly pores.

AR11124 Sunspot Group is now growing and now contain a main component with umbra and penumbra region as it is surrounded by many small pores. Newly developed AR11125 Sunspot Group has develop west of AR11124 Group.

AR11126 Sunspot Group which is emerging from the SE limb has some small faculae region and might develop further as it emerges out from its Wilson Effect condition.

Solar Imaging Session - November 12, 2010

Hello:

The sky this morning was clear again but unfortunately, seeing condition was poor. AR11123 Sunspot Group continues to be active amid its small size. AR11121 Sunspot Group is gone already in white light but still shows some nice solar activity in its surrounding area. A nice eruptive prominence is also visible in the SE limb.

AR11124 Sunspot Group, on the other hand, has one main sunspot component together with lots of small pores inside its group.

I think AR11123 Sunspot Group will be the only sunspot group that will be visible in the next few days as I'm expecting AR11124 and AR11121 to be gone in a day or two.

Solar Imaging Session - November 10, 2010 (AR11121 & Possible New AR11123 Sunspot Group ! )

Hello:

The sky this morning is so cloudy and I had a very hard time doing any imaging . But I force myself to at least image AR11121 Sunspot Group even through passing clouds as I also notice a new possible developing AR11123 Sunspot Group that is developing beside AR11121 Sunspot Group. Will try to monitor this group again tomorrow.

Solar Imaging Session - November 9, 2010

Hello:

The sky this morning is fair with some patchy clouds. In H-Alpha, AR11121 Sunspot Group still continues to show activity inside its core while AR11122 Sunspot Group started also to deteriorate and one of its main component has decayed fast :( I was expecting it to grow further .... Too bad :(

The huge eruptive prominence visible yesterday is gone already and only some small eruptive prominences are visible around the solar limb. To add some spice to today's solar activity, 2 nice large dark filaments can be seen in the NE quadrant :)

As I was imaging AR11122 Sunspot Group in white light, passing clouds started to block my view of the group but I still manage to image it before a stubborn cloud patch covered the Sun from me and doesn't seem to let me do further imaging of AR11121 Sunspot Group although I was able to glimpse it for a short time and can also see the group is also starting to decay as well.

Hope I can get some good breaks tomorrow morning for me to continue monitoring the 2 groups.

Solar Imaging Session - November 8, 2010 ( New AR11122 & AR11121 Sunspot Groups with Huge Eruptive Prominence !!! )

Hello:

The sky this morning was surprising clear and I didn't waste anytime and start imaging right away! AR11121 Sunspot Group continues to show highly active solar activity inside its core. A huge Eruptive Prominence can also be seen in the SE limb!

After I finish imaging through H-Alpha wavelength, I proceeded to image the Sun in white light. AR11121 Sunspot Group is also starting to decay a bit but its length is still more or less the same as yesterday. Some faculae can still be seen beside the group.

As I start centering AR11121 Group, I accidentally come across AR11122 Sunspot Group which is situated more or less near the NW quadrant. Although slightly smaller than AR11121 Group, I can see 2 small main component on this new group that I estimate might still grow more prominent in the days to come.

As I quickly review my H-Alpha images taken a little earlier, it was then that I notice I was able to image it already together with decayed AR11120 Sunspot Group which has already diminished but still retain some slight activity that can be seen only in H-Alpha wavelength.

I was also able to image the Sun in whole disk white light as well today to show the position of sunspot groups.

Solar Imaging Session - November 7, 2010

Hello:

I was able to wake up a little early this morning and was able to start doing solar imaging right away. Sky condition was fair with some small passing clouds near the Sun's vicinity. AR11121 Sunspot Group continues to show its beauty as it continues to show lots of solar activity inside its group. A small nice dark filament can be seen arching above the group surrounded by bright white flare. Very photogenic to view and image. Several group of eruptive prominences can also be seen around the solar limb. In white light, AR 11121 Sunspot Group has a beautiful faculae region surrounding the group.

AR11120 Sunspot Group, on the other hand, is not that visible anymore in white light wavelength but still continues to show some small activity inside its core through H-Alpha wavelength.

Solar Imaging Session - November 5, 2010 (AR11121 a.k.a. Returning AR11112 Sunspot Group)

Hello:

Sky this morning is super bad and I have to struggle with the clouds that are hovering in front of the Sun! Darn! It was very hard to do any solar imaging today but since I got a glimpse of super bright flare surrounding returning AR11112 Sunspot Group (now designated AR11121) at the edge of the SE limb, I just can't let it pass by without trying to do any image on it. The flare was so bright that it is still visible through most of the clouds that is passing in front of the Sun except of course the super dark ones :) LOL . A nice large eruptive prominence is also visible near AR11121 Group as well.

As for AR11120 Sunspot Group, I can see some small activity on the group but unfortunately, no chance to image it because I got clouded out after getting a small 2-3 minutes of thin haze only for me to image AR11121 Group only :(

I hope to get a chance tomorrow to monitor this group if weather is ok.

Solar Imaging Session - November 3, 2010

Hello:

The sky this morning is hazy with terrible seeing condition. With AR11117 Sunspot Group already exiting the NW limb, I turned my eye to new AR11120 Sunspot Group which is visible in the NE limb. This group is large but not still not that complex in its structure with numerous small pores and two small main component with minimal penumbral structure as well as some faculae around the group. More or less a Class B group in the Waldmeier Zurich Sunspot Classification. Several small eruptive prominences can also be seen around the limb but not that prominent.

I hope to get some better sky and seeing condition tomorrow for me to get a better image of the group in high resolution.
