Deep Sky Imaging Session - April 30 - May 1, 2011

Last April 30, I went to Caliraya again for the 3rd time in April with members of the Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP). We arrived at the site after sunset and the sky was clear! I quickly setup the Sky Memo and got to polar align in a jiffy.

Although the sky was clear most of the night, the wind was a bit strong and I got a lot of ruined subs because of this :( Nevertheless, I manage to move my car and block the wind direction thus lessen the wind induced vibration. Below are some of the deep sky images that i took during the night.

Just before sunrise, the thin crescent Moon is rising from the eastern horizon and shows a nice earthshine as well. I also manage to image the crescent Moon together with Venus and Mercury. Looking forward to June 4 imaging session again with the group.
