I, together with some members of the Astronomical League of the Philippines setup at Astrocamp observatory last June 15th to observe and image the June 16th total lunar eclipse.
The sky was kind the whole duration of the eclipse thus giving me as well as the rest of our members a good chance to observe and image the eclipse. I use a portable Canon EOS 500D DSLR on Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS L lens with EF1.4x to image the eclipse .
The Moon was a bit bright as it enters the early part of totality but get dimmer as it reached maximum totality wherein the Moon shows a pale red to the naked eye. But the camera is more sensitive than the eye to be bale to capture more reddish tint. Nevertheless, amid its faintness, I was still able to glimpse the faint eclipsed Moon through my camera viewfinder.
