June 4, 2012 Partial Lunar Eclipse
ALPers James Kevin Ty and Alberto Lao went up to the roof deck of Albert Lao's residence which has an access roofdeck at 27th floor. This will also be the area where the ALP Venus Transit Binondo Team will be setting up on June 6, 2012. They started to setup at around 6:10pm and waited for the Moon to appear through some cloud layers in the eastern horizon. Unfortunately, clouds only started to disperse a bit more or less around 7:00pm Philippine Standard Time (PST). Maximum Lunar Eclipse was visible through some thin clouds but started to clear up after 7:08pm. ALP President James Kevin Ty brought along his ultra portable setup in Canon EOS 500D DSLR on Canon EF 100-400mm f.4.5-5.6 IS L lens set at 400mm f.5.6 mounted on top of Kenko Sky Memo-R tracker. ALPer Alberto Lao, on the other hand, uses a Sony Alpha A77 DSLR on 500mm/F8RF mirror lens. They were able to continuously imaging the eclipse till around 8:40pm before they packed up and call it a night!
