Lunar Imaging Session - February 23, 2016
The sky tonight is clear so I use this opportunity to test my old reliable camera setup in Canon EOS 500D DSLR with Canon EF 100-400mm f.4.5-5.6 IS L lens set at 400mm f/8 in imaging the Waning Gibbous Moon to check my actual true field of view which I plan to use on the upcoming total solar eclipse in March 9, 2016. Since the Moon and the Sun is almost of the same size of about half a degree, even the moon shot is a good appropriate test. Manila and the rest of the Philippines will have a partial solar eclipse while a total solar eclipse will happen near the middle path of Indonesia crossing Sumatra, Central Kalimantan, Sulawesi and South Molukku.
