Solar Imaging Session - June 30, 2021

The sky this morning is clear but I can still see some more of the Taal Sulfur Dioxide SO2 smog still present on the sky. But it is slightly lesser or thinning compared to yesterday.

AR2835 Sunspot Group continues to grow in size and its main core structure has grown beautifully as well both in White Light and Ha wavelength. There is also another new AR 2837 Sunspot Group that is visible in the NE quadrant. AR2826 Sunspot Group is staying to decay fast. A nice tall, large projection prominence is also visible in the NE limb. I wasn't able to do any CaK imaging today as clouds pester me all along despite the fact I setup early this morning and I'm running late for work as well. Hope I can do it as well tomorrow morning.

Solar Imaging Session - June 28, 2021

The sky this morning is clear but is unusually hazy and my normal solar image exposures are thrown off by several stops! I would later know that Taal Volcano emitted large amount of Sulfur gases thus making Metro Manila very hazy.  I nevertheless proceeded to image the Sun despite the sky condition. AR2835 Sunspot Group continues to grow in size and structure while another smaller AR2836 Sunspot Group is growing south of AR2835 Sunspot Group.  An unnamed active region in the northern hemisphere is also a joy to view and image in Ha wavelength. I image these 2 groups only through white light, Ha and CaK wavelength. It was the first time for me to do CaK images so I had a hard time getting the exposure right as well as processing because of the smog. Nevertheless, I'm still quite happy with the results I got this morning despite the bad sky condition brought about by the Taal smog.

Solar Imaging Session - June 27, 2021

The sky this morning is cloudy but i still proceeded to setup later in the morning despite the bad weather in the hope to still get a few shots of AR2835 Sunspot Group.  Seeing condition was also very poor and I was only able to capture AR2835 Sunspot Group in white light wavelength before  thunderstorm and rain poured on me while i finish packing up.

Solar Imaging Session - June 20, 2021

The sky this morning is very cloudy and I have to cancel my planned live online view for today's celebration of International SUNday :(  I was able to image AR2833 Sunspot Group both in Ha and white light wavelength only due to the very cloudy situation. It even drizzle after I quickly pack up my setup- at the roof deck :( So here's my contribution to the event with a pair of Ha and white light images of AR2833 Sunspot Group.

Solar Imaging Session - June 19, 2021

The sky this morning is clear and seeing is very good. AR2833 Sunspot Group is almost the same as yesterday appearance. The NE quadrant long dark filament has snapped but is still quite long. There is a nice large hedgerow prominence in the SE limb.

Solar Imaging Session - June 18, 2021

The sky this morning is partly clear and seeing condition is good. AR2833 Sunspot Group has stabilize in size and is  beautiful to view and image in Ha wavelength. There is also another new AR2834 Sunspot Group that has developed near the NW limb. Yesterday's large NW Hedgerow Prominence has simmered down and shrunk in size as well. There is also a very long Dark Filament in the NE quadrant near AR2833 Sunspot Group.
