Deep Sky Imaging Session - April 12-13, 2025

The sky this evening at Viewscape Nature Park is partly cloudy but it later started to cleared up late in the evening till past midnight. I was with Alex Fajardo who brought along his ZWP Seestar twin S50 and S30 Smart Scopes while I brought along my usual Borg 76ED Refractor mounted on an ZWO AM5 mount as well as Dwarf 3 Smart Scope. We were later joined by Viewscape veteran Jhun Bogtae around midnight to meet with us and also try to image the new comet C/2025 F2 Swan which will be rising before sunrise in the NE horizon. He brought along his Astro Scientific AR102 Refractor mounted on a ZWO AM3 mount. I was able to image IC2944 Running Chicken Nebula in the constellation of Carina and M8 Lagoon and M20 Triffid Nebula in the constellation of Sagittarius using the Borg 76ED Refractor. I also image NGC 6357 Lobster and NGC6334 Cat's Paw Nebula in the constellation of Scorpius using the Dwarf 3 Smart Scope. I also manage to get a short 3 minute total exposure of the Comet C/2025 F2 Swan in the constellation of Pegasus just before the sky brightens up before 5:00am. The comet is very small on my Borg 76ED Refractor but is bright enough to be captured at around magnitude +7.5 . Overall, the session was great as was able to meetup Jhun for the 1st time since we are friends several years ago already. After our traditional group shot, we had a hot bulalo soup and rice as breakfast before going home feeling satisfied. Hope to observe again with these wonderful guys!
