Solar Imaging Session - August 16, 2015

The sky this morning is clear and seeing is good. Several nice prominences can be viewed in the eastern limb. AR2340 and 2341 Sunspot Group are starting to grow in a small way.

Solar Imaging Session - August 15, 2015

The sky this morning is partly clear and seeing condition is fair. With AR2396 Sunspot Group gone. There are 2 small sunspot groups namely 2340 and 2341 Sunspot Group visible on the Suns disk. 2 large eruptive prominences are visible with the one on the NE limb showing signs of falling back to the limb after an earlier ejection from the limb but is slightly faint. I also capture small AR2400 Sunspot Group as well.

Solar Imaging Session - August 14, 2015

The sky this morning is a bit cloudy and hazy. Seeing condition is fair but I could only image a single Ha image of the western large hedgerow prominence just above exiting AR2396 sunspot group before a thick haze covers the Sun and making the Sun virtually "surfaceless" because of the passing thick hazy clouds :(

Solar Imaging Session - August 13, 2015

The sky this morning is hazy but seeing fair. I was able to capture AR2396 Sunspot Group before it exits the SW limb. In Ha wavelength, some moderate size prominences can be viewed around the solar limb.

Solar Imaging Session - August 9, 2015

The sky this morning is cloudy but I was able to image the huge eruptive prominence in the NW limb before I got clouded out totally and to add insult into it, it started to rain afterwards! I missed imaging AR2396 Sunspot Group in white light closeup :( One good thing though is that I can image once again form my observing window once again thus I can start resuming my regular solar imaging session again!

Solar Imaging Session - August 7, 2015

I was able to image the Sun again after lunch time. Seeing condition is fair. AR2396 Sunspot Group continues to grow in size and activity inside its core. There is a group of large dark filaments on the SE limb and prominence. Several prominences are also visible on the western limb but obstruction of the roof prevented me from imaging further :(

Solar Imaging Session - August 6, 2015

The sky this lunchtime is clear but unfortunately, the Sun had past zenith already and is nearing our roof obstruction. I quickly took a shot of the Sun which shows an active AR2369 Sunspot Group together with a large group of hedgerow prominences on the SE limb before I got obstructed totally. Oh well.... :)
