Deep Sky Imaging Session - March 5, 2023

The sky this evening is clear but the glare of the 94% Waxing Gibbous Moon is washing the sky out but I want to see how far the Svbony SV220 7nm Duo Filter can go to show some details of a nebula. I choose the NGC 2264 Christmas Tree Cluster / Cone Nebula in Canis Major as a test subject as the Moon is roughly 45 degrees away from the subject. I use a ZWO ASI294MC PRO camera on Borg 76ED Refractor with 0.8x Reducer / Flattener and Svbony SV220 Duo Filter with ASIAIR V1 on Vixen Starbook-S controller with Vixen GPDX mount. Total exposure of 120 minutes was taken on Unity Gain at -5 deg C . The image came out surprisingly good despite the Moon glare and obvious some gradients from the glare but I'm happy with the result and looking forward to reimaging this object under a Moonless night. Also, captured with the nebula is the Philippine Nebula as describe by fellow ALP great imager Eric Africa, as it resemble the Philippine archipelago :)
