Solar Imaging Session - May 6, 2021

The sky  this afternoon is partly cloudy. No sunspot groups are visible on the Sun's disk today.  I just settled imaging a developing active region with some dark filament in the SE quadrant as well as the curved large dark filament near the SW limb. 

Solar Imaging Session - May 1, 2021

The sky this afternoon is clear but seeing condition is fair. AR 2818 and 2820 Sunspot Groups are near the SW limb already and quietly exiting the limb. Both groups are quiet in white light and Ha wavelength.Some nice large faculae region are surrounding AR2820 Group.

Lunar Imaging Session - April 27, 2021

The sky this evening is clear and seeing condition is very good. Took this opportunity to image the Pink Full Moon using Canon EOS M6 mirrorless camera on Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS L lens set at 400mm f/11 mounted on Vixen Porta II mount with 1/1000 sec exposure at ISO 400.

Solar Imaging Sesion - April 25, 2021

The sky this afternoon is clear and seeing condition is very good. 3 sunspot groups are visible on the Sun's disk with AR2818 Sunspot Group being the more complex of the 3 groups. AR2816 and 2819 Sunspot Groups are small pore group. Lots of solar activity on the Sun in Ha wavelength. Numerous solar prominences are also visible on the Sun's limb as well. I was able to image them both in Ha and white light wavelength.

I also took some time to process the 3 above large prominences again by using an overexposed prominence to show them more clearly than through the single HDR image I made earlier and they can be seen below.

Deep Sky Imaging Session - April 10, 2021

The sky last night was surprisingly clear but M42 Orion Nebula is starting to get low as I only have a small window to get more subs for this object.  Nevertheless, still happy with the result and I will try to work on the blown out core in the days to come.  Image taken using ZWO ASI294MC Pro astro camera with Borg 76ED refractor on Vixen GPDX mount. Total of 60 minutes exposure was made on the subject.

Solar Imaging Session - April 10, 2021

The sky this morning is clear and seeing condition is very good. The rising Sun has shifted now back to the NE thus letting me image the Sun in the morning rather than in the afternoon. No sunspot regions visible on the Sun's disk.  There are 3 prominent eruptive prominences in the NE, SE and SW limb. The one in the SW is huge and beautiful while the one in the NE limb is huge as well but slightly dimmer.  The NW large prominence might become bigger tomorrow from what I view on this prominence.  There is also a long dark filament near the northern disk area.

Deep Sky Imaging Session - April 9, 2021

The sky this evening is initially clear so I setup my scope to image M42 Orion Nebula but as expected, clouds is there to ruined my session !  As a consolation, I only was able to image a few frames through passing clouds and just processed it anyway... :{  Not that great and due to frustration, I settle to image M44 Beehive star cluster before packing up.  Fight another day as they say it... Images were taken using ZWO ASI294MC Pro astro camera with Borg 76ED refractor on Vixen GPDX mount.  a 10 minute total exposure was made for M42 while I exposed for 30 minutes for M44.
