The sky this evening is clear and I images the 12 day old Waxing Gibbous Moon using Dwarf 3 Smart Scope at Astro Mode with VIS Filter at AZ Mode with a total stacked 20 images at 1/1000 sec exposure at Gain 0.

Solar Imaging Session - May 8, 2025

The sky this morning is cloudy and I had a hard time getting solar images due to fast passing thick clouds. I was only to get a few snap shots of AR4079 Region in both white light and Ha wavelength before getting clouded out totally and even rain after I packed up asap!

Solar Imaging Session - May 7, 2025

The sky this morning is cloudy and I almost gave up around lunchtime but I continue to wait patiently for a chance to image and luckily, I was given maybe 30 minutes window for me to shoot the Sun closeup before I got clouded out again and even rain hard after I packed up. No full disk though but better than nothing at all.

Solar Imaging Session - May 6, 2025

The sky this morning is clear and seeing condition is again excellent. AR4079 Region continues to grow in size and still a large naked eye sunspot with solar filter. AR4082 and AR4081 Regions are also starting to grow in size but not comparable to the huge AR4079 in size. There is also a huge Hedgerow prominence visible in the NE limb which I wasn't able to image yeaterday due to cloudy sky.

Solar Imaging Session - May 5, 2025

The sky this morning is partly clear but seeing condition is excellent. I was only able to make a quickie image of large sunspot AR4079 Region in both white light and Ha wavelength before clouds covered up the Sun again. I wasn't able to image full disk :( This sunspot group is huge and is visible naked eye with solar filter.

Deep Sky Imaging Session - May 2, 2025

The sky after midnight is clear so I setup my ZWO ASI294MC PRO with Borg 76ED Refractor to try to image NGC 6188 Rim Nebula or famously known as the Fighting Dragon of Ara in the constellation of Puppis. This subject is challenging because it is very low in the southern horizon and almost touching our roofdeck between 20-26 degrees altitude only! I use SVBony SV220 Duo Band Filter, a 7nm narrowband filter to capture this beauty. I was only able to get 120 minutes total integration time before it gets obstructed :(

Solar Imaging Session - May 1, 2025

The sky this afternoon is clear and seeing condition is very good. Huge AR4079 Sunspot Region can be seen entering from the NE limb. SO this should give us a good solar viewing and imaging session more than 10 days at least if it doesn't decay fast as it pass meridian. No large prominence is visible arpund the solar limb and there is also a huge twisting dark filament near the NW limb.
